With the Rockets their 6-0 start is the fourth best best start in franchise history since the 1996-97 season. For the Warriors, their 4-0 start is the best start in 20 years of the franchise. The Rockets normally play well against the Warriors in seasons past meetings. Also Warriors rookie coach Steve Kerr becomes the first coach to win his first four games in a row in his first year. Both teams offenses have been playing to a high standard in the young season. With Houston ranking fifth in PPG at 104.3 a game, with Golden State ranking first averaging 109.5 a game, with both teams ranking in the top five of three point percentage with the Rockets in first at 43.1 percent and the Warriors in fifth at 40.4 percent. With both team’s defenses have been very stout with the Warriors ranking first with a Defensive RTG of 90.5 and the Rockets ranking third with a DEF RTG of 92.5. The key matchup will be with the Rockets backcourt against the one of the league’s best shooting backcourt with the splash brothers of Curry and Thompson who combined for 444 threes last season breaking Orlando’s duo of Dennis Scott and Nick Anderson of 435 in 1995-96 season. In the offseason for the Golden State Warriors, they made a changed by letting go coach Mark Jackson after winning 54 games last year and bringing new coach Steve Kerr for a change. This is Kerr’s first job as a head coach in the league, along with the Warriors signing free agent guard Shaun Livingston. Expect both teams to play a chess match type of basketball.
