Dallas Stars Update

Tonight, the Dallas Stars face the Canucks for their first of a three-game road

trip in Canada. Both teams are feeling the pressure to win tonight – the Canucks

needing to get back on track and the Stars needing to start a win streak and gain

some ground in the standings. The Stars currently sit 11 points behind Vancouver in

the standings, but the Canucks of late have been on a losing streak and were far

from their best at their most recent outing. The Stars are coming off a win against

New Jersey and are looking to use that as momentum for these upcoming games.

With Garbutt still out, the Stars lineup will feature Morin just like Saturday’s

game. Moen has been skating at practices, but may not make an appearance tonight

as he deals with an upper body injury. With the recalling of Anders Lindback from

his successful stint with the Texas Stars, look for him to start one of the last two

games on this road trip, since Kari Lehtonen will be the guy in goal for Dallas

tonight.

The Stars have beaten the Canucks once already in dominating fashion with a

final score of 6-3. In the time since that game on October 21st

numerous changes and injuries for the Stars, so the team will need to look at this as

if it is an entirely new opponent and just focus on playing straightforward, simple

hockey. The Stars will be looking at their top line in Jamie Benn, Jason Spezza, and

the NHL’s leading goal scorer, Tyler Seguin, to get a spark going to allow the rest of

the lineup to make their moves.
