Rockets vs. Bulls Preview
The Rockets will begin the first game of the three game eastern conference road trip in Chicago to take on the Bulls. Both teams came off good wins recently and it’s the first of two meetings between Houston and Chicago.
From the past offseason, both teams were a part of the Carmelo Anthony cross country free agency tour. The Bulls were always considered to be the heavy favorite to land Anthony but opted to resign back with the New York Knicks. Chicago signed free agent forward Pau Gasol after the team amnestied Carlos Boozer and has been playing very well along with potential rookie of the year candidate Nikola Mirotic. Chicago comes in with a 24-10 record and ranked third in the east. Houston comes in with a 23-10 record and ranked fifth in the west.
The Rockets should not be no stranger to Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau, who was a former Rockets assistant coach under Jeff Van Gundy from 2003-07. His defenses have been a model of consistency and ranking in the top ten of the NBA. Rockets are ranked second defensively.
