The Road to Wrestlemania continues to roll on through Fastlane, which is being held in Cleveland, Ohio. This is the last stop before Wrestlemania and usually where the card begins to look a little clearer. There are plenty of great matches to look forward to, and one that has huge implications for the Wrestlemania main event. Let’s look at each match and who I think is going to win.
The New Day vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev
This is a match that has very little effect on the Wrestlemania picture but has tons of potential to be a great match. All the guys involved are amazing workers and I doubt they will let everyone down. Purely because I don’t think the New Day needs the win, I’m going to take Nakamura and Rusev to win this match.
Nakamura and Rusev win via pinfall
Andrade vs Rey Mysterio
The next match is one that we have already seen deliver. The young Andrade and veteran Rey Mysterio have put on a show for the fans time after time and this will be no different. I have to pick Andrade because I believe WWE has big plans for him in the near future.
Andrade wins via pinfall
Main Show Matches
Raw Tag Team Championship match: The Revival (c) vs Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs Ricochet and Aleister Black
If given the proper time, this match has the potential to steal the show. All three teams are full of great talent; however, WWE has a habit of not showcasing their tag teams. So don’t expect a classic here. I’m going to pick The Revival to retain, since they have been losing over and over.
The Revival retains
Women’s Tag Team Championship: Boss n Hug Connection (c) vs Samoan Slaughterhouse
The first women’s tag title defense is happening, and it’s a somewhat disappointing matchup. Most fans don’t care about Samoan Slaughterhouse. Nia Jax is boring, and Tamina is horrible in the ring. Boss n Hug will get an easy win tonight, then go on to a more interesting feud at Wrestlemania.
Boss n Hug via submission.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs McMiz
(Snore) I don’t care for this Shane McMahon and Miz storyline. With the show taking place in Cleveland, look for a Shane backstab on The Miz tonight. Thank god the Usos will be defending tonight.
Usos via pinfall
Smackdown Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) vs Mandy Rose
A fresh women’s championship match has come, now that both Becky and Charlotte are swirling around the RAW Women’s Championship. Though it’s a fresh matchup, I believe this match with Mandy is a means to get to Sonya Deville vs. Asuka at Wrestlemania. That is the reason I have Asuka winning this match.
Asuka via DQ
The Shield vs Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre
The Shield are reuniting for what could be the last time. With Dean Ambrose possibly leaving after Wrestlemania, look for the WWE to capitalize on the Shield brand. They will get the win easily.
The Shield via pinfall
Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair (If Becky wins, she will be added to the Raw Women’s Championship match)
WWE decided to go the complicated way to get to their desired triple threat match for Wrestlemania. With such a convoluted story so far, expect Becky to win via shenanigans from Ronda, then hopefully a much simpler story going into Wrestlemania.
Becky Lynch via submission
WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs Kevin Owens
In the final match, we will get the returning Kevin Owens taking on the New Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. With this being the supposed Wrestlemania match, it is looking more and more like we could be getting Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania now. For that reason, I have Daniel Bryan winning after some kind of interference, then Kofi helping Kevin Owens after the match. #KofiMania
Daniel Bryan via pinfall
This isn’t the greatest card, but there are some big Wrestlemania implications involved. This should be an entertaining night for the WWE Universe. I know I’m looking forward to it.
