This Saturday, July 13, will mark All Elite Wrestling’s third official PPV with Fight for the Fallen. A percentage of the earnings will be going towards helping victims of gun violence. The show will take place in Jacksonville, Florida, and will air for free on the BR Live app, so be sure to tune in and enjoy some fantastic wrestling on your Saturday night.
AEW will be looking to further many storylines at this event to set up some payoff for the fans at their upcoming All Out event in August. There are many high-profile matches and even a few that may not be on your radar but have the chance to surprise you. Let’s look at each match and see where they could possibly go; my predictions follow each match description. Let’s start with the only item announced on the pre-show, called “The Buy In.”
Buy In: Peter Avalon vs Sonny Kiss
In the only announced pre-show match, we will see “The Librarian” Peter Avalon taking on Sonny Kiss. I don’t know much about either guy, but right now, both Librarians in AEW, Leva Bates and Peter Avalon, have been getting a lot of “go away” heat, which is not something a wrestler wants. For that reason alone, I will say that I believe Sonny Kiss will get his first singles victory in AEW.
Sonny Kiss wins.
Lucha Bros vs So Cal Uncensored
The team of Pentagon Jr. and Fénix will be taking on the team of Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky to help figure out the landscape of the tag team division in AEW. These are two of the most highly-touted tag teams in the company, but the Lucha Bros still have not seen victory in the company. I would expect a high-paced, high-octane match from these two, but I expect the Lucha Bros to restart their winning ways again.
Lucha Bros win.
Allie vs Brandi Rhodes
In the only women’s match, Allie goes up against the boss, Brandi Rhodes. Allie had a match at Fyter Fest against Leva Bates and picked up the victory in order to gain some momentum for this match. This is Brandi’s first match, as she has done a good job of being an executive for AEW. I don’t think AEW wants to emulate what the WWE does with their authority figures, so I’m going to choose Allie to win this match and to have a much better showing then she did in her last match.
6-Man Tag Team Match- Sammy Guevara, MJF, and Shawn Spears vs Jimmy Havoc, Joey Janela, and Darby Allin
This match has a big story placed right in the middle of it. At Fyter Fest, Shawn Spears came down after Cody’s match with Darby Allin and blasted his close friend with a chair shot to the head. MJF was livid with Spears after he had just assaulted his mentor. Sammy will have to do his best to get both MJF and Spears to coexist. On the other hand, you’ve got three superstars who are hungry to get that first win in AEW. I doubt that Sammy will be able to control the two guys that currently don’t like each other, so the team of Havoc, Janela, and Allin will probably get the victory.
Jimmy Havoc, Joey Janela, and Darby Allin win.
Adam Page vs Kip Sabian
Adam Page, the #1 contender for the AEW World Championship, will be taking on this young upstart before his big match against Christ Jericho at All Out in August. However, Page should not look past his opponent. At Fyter Fest, Sabian was sitting on commentary during Page’s win in the Fatal Four Way, and Sabian was talking a lot about Page’s knee injury. Expect Sabian to attack the leg relentlessly, but for Page to battle back and win a very close match.
Adam Page wins.
Kenny Omega vs Cima
Coming off a big victory at Fyter Fest against Christopher Daniels, Cima will now face his biggest test in AEW, Kenny Omega. Kenny Omega is coming off his attack on Jon Moxley at Fyter Fest after Moxley’s unsanctioned match against Joey Janela. I think Omega will defeat Cima in a close match, then Moxley will come out and attack Omega one more time before their match at All Out.
Kenny Omega wins.
The Young Bucks vs The Rhodes Brothers
This match is going to be crazy. I’m expecting a lot of emotional storytelling to happen in this match. It’s hard for me to go against the Young Bucks, but we already know what they can do, and this will be the first time the Rhodes Brothers will truly team up with the freedom to tell the story they want to. For this match, I’m going with the unpopular pick.
The Rhodes Brothers win.
AEW has been hyping this PPV up a lot, and with WWE airing EVOLVE’s 10-year anniversary show on the WWE Network at the same time as this show, I’m expecting AEW to go all out and put on a great show. Make sure you tune in on the BR Live app for free at 7 p.m. Eastern for the preshow, then at 8 p.m. Eastern for the main card.
